Special Valentine’s Day Show and Album Release Party

SCMC will require proof of fully-vaccinated status, or a negative COVID test taken within 48 hours, for anyone age 12 or older to attend a concert at our venue. In areas with substantial and high transmission, the CDC recommends that everyone (including fully vaccinated individuals) wear a mask in public indoor settings to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, especially the Delta variant, and to protect others. To that end, SCMC is requiring all attendees—regardless of age or vaccination status—to wear a mask while in the building. Attendees will need to bring photo ID and proof of vaccination, or a negative test, the night of a concert.

All staff, volunteers and artists entering the venue are required to be fully vaccinated as well. This policy is in line with many other venues, presenters, promoters and artists and is meant to ensure, as best we can, that live music returns to the stage this season.

If you have tickets to an upcoming performance and are unwilling or unable to abide by this policy please contact our box office at least 48 hours before the performance for a refund at kelly@scmc-online.org.

One of the Midwest’s most prolific and passionate songwriters, Erlewine has a gift for writing songs of substance that feel both fresh and soulfully familiar. Her ability to emotionally engage with an audience has earned her a dedicated following far beyond her Michigan roots. This show will also be here latest album release party!

Raised in a home full of art and music, Erlewine began writing songs at a very young age. As a teenager she hitchhiked across the country, honing her skills as a performer and absorbing the kind of stories and landscapes that would inform her music. In the following years, Erlewine would perform in every kind of venue imaginable, from street corners to festival stages to the live airwaves of A Prairie Home Companion.

As a live performer, she is just as magnetic playing solo acoustic songs at a living room house concert as she is when supported by her carefully chosen backing bands.

About The Album Tiny Beautiful Things

Sometimes a book saves your life. It shows up just in time, and you cling to each page. They don’t always tell you love can be an endless stormy ocean, and when your dreams unravel, sometimes you need saving.

“Whatever happens to you belongs to you. Make it yours. Feed it to yourself even if it feels impossible to swallow. Let it nurture you, because it will.” – Cheryl Strayed (Tiny Beautiful Things)

This collection of love songs, named after the award winning book by author Cheryl Strayed, offers a look at how love deepens with time. How through our grief, our mistakes, our courage and vulnerability we find bigger and more meaningful ways to be in love.

“You will learn a lot about yourself if you stretch in the direction of goodness, of bigness, of kindness, of forgiveness, of emotional bravery. Be a warrior for love.” – Cheryl

Join us for an evening of love, all kinds of love. Let’s celebrate the miracles we find in our lives, in our joy and in our sorrows. We’ll meet in the moment and uncover the tiny beautiful things.

“Don’t surrender all your joy for an idea you used to have about yourself that isn’t true anymore.” – Cheryl Strayed
