Strings to Schools

Bringing Music to Life for All Students, St. Cecilia Music Center provides outreach programs with the support of generous donors. Music education has a considerable influence on how a student matures into a healthy adult. These programs have been designed to nurture the creative gifts of young people. The gift of music helps to build and strengthen family and community values while focusing on hard work, self-esteem, cooperation and the joy of achievement. Our string programs offer students in the Grand Rapids Schools beginning string instruction, which otherwise would not be available.

Elementary After-school Program A FREE after-school music program offered by St. Cecilia Music Center with support from the D’Addario Foundation, Spectrum Health and many other generous donors. St. Cecilia provides violins, violas and cellos. Currently this program is offered at Congress Elementary.
